About Felicity Steadman

Felicity is a full-time professional in dispute resolution and has worked as an independent mediator since 1989. She was first accredited as a mediator in South Africa, and more recently by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) (2003). She has also trained as a conciliator with ACAS (1991). Felicity is an IMI (International Mediation Institute) certified mediator http://imimediation.org/mediator-search#45|keyword_search=1

Felicity mediates employment, workplace and labour disputes, as well as small claims and fast track commercial disputes, independently and through CEDR (http://www.cedr.co.uk/) and Oxford Mediation (http://oxford-mediation.com/). She has also worked with CMP Resolutions (http://cmpresolutions.co.uk/). She has conducted mediations in a wide range of organisations in the public and private sectors. Felicity’s settlement rate is close on 100%. 

Felicity trains independent mediators in the UK for CEDR and for Conflict Dynamics in South Africa. She also trains mediators and conciliators internationally for the International Labour Organisation, her most recent course having taken place in Turin in 2009 ( http://www.itcilo.org/en/training-areas/social-dialogue). She has trained mediators in South Africa for the Independent Mediation Service of South Africa, the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration, and the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa. Felicity is a partner in Conflict Dynamics, a training company founded in 1996 which specialises in workplace conflict management and dispute resolution skills training. Felicity has worked in the field of industrial relations, and the following qualifications

  • MA in Industrial Relations (1985) University of Warwick
  • BA (Hons) (1981) University of the Witwatersrand (Wits)
  • Higher Diploma in Labour Law (2003) (Wits)
  • Certificate in Industrial Relations (1984) (Wits)

Felicity has a number of publications to her name. In 2008 Felicity wrote a Handbook on Alternative Dispute Resolution for the ILO. She was a co-author of Labour Dispute Resolution published by Jutas in 1997, second edition 2009. Felicity was a contributor to Dispute Resolution published by Jutas in 1993.
